TEARFUL TRIBUTE PAID TO

SRI KURAKARAN C.O MALAKHI

Karickom poonthottathil Sri Kurakaran C.O Malakhi died on 22nd August,2010. He was 83. He had age related ailments, but was active.Born as the elder son of Mr Koshy Oommen and Sosamma on 1927. He was the Former President of the Kurakaran Valiyaveettil Kudumbayogam, Kurakaran Women’s Association and Kurakaran Divya Bodana Unit. He was the founder president of the YMCA, Karickom Chapter. He was the famous business man especially tecxtile busines. He later started Thankom Supermarket and Anugrah Auditorium near his residence at karickom. He was also the Editorial member of the’Kudumbadeepam’- the official journey of the Kudumba yogam.

He is surviving his wife Thankamma Malakhi and three daughters Susan Koshy(USA), Jolly Thomas,Mini Jacob and a son Thomas P. Malakhi.

Under his leadeship Kurakaran Kudumbayogam embarked on a new journey of development. He encouraged the family members to began endowments and awards. Mr C.O Malakhi was honoured with Ponnada in2002 by Kudumbayogam. He has written a book Devotional songs”Mathura keerthangal” and several biblical articles.

Mr Malakhi’s body,placed at his house for the near and dear to pay their last respects on 26th August,2010 at 9 am.Hundreads from all sections of the society paid their last respects.The last journey from home began by 12 noon. Special funeral prayers at Shattai Church Hall, Karickom were lead by so many pasturs and church leaders.

Among those who paid their last respects to C.O Malakhi as Thursday include Mr Kurakaran A.C Thomas, President Kudumba yogam,Mrs Chinnamma John, President,Kurakaran women’s Association, Prof.John Kurakar,President, Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithi,and other political and social leaders.

Kurakaran Kudumbayogam was arranged a condolence meeting at Karickom padinjare veedu.Mr A.C Thomas presided over the meeting. The Kudumbayogam president said Mr C.O Malakhi’s demise was great loss to the family and our community.He had always been attentive to all issues affecting our locality.
