POOMTHOTTATHIL SOSAMMA AMACHI

Lower Karickom Poomthottathil Sosamma Amachi, wife of late Kurakkaran Koshy Oomman died on 22nd March,2012. She was 90. She is surviving three sons P.O David (Rtd Teacher), Mr. Alex Kurakkaran,(Rtd Tresurary Officer) and Mr.Jacob P. Oomman

( Manager, S.B.T, Ramavarma puram,Perumbavoor) and six daughters P.O Annamma, P.O Gracy (Rtd Teacher) P.O Easthel, P.O Aleyamma, P.O Mary Kutty, P.O Rebacca. In laws:-Mr. Geevarghese(Rtd DSO),Mr. A.M Mathew(Rtd Agriculture Officer), Mr. K.J John(Rtd Vigilence Officer) Mrs. K.V Laila (Rtd Health Supervisor) Mariamma Mathew (Rtd Teacher), Mr. P.L Mathew (Rtd Police Officer), Mr. K.G George, and Dr. M. Leelamma, Professor, Marthoma Women’s College Perumbavoor. Ammachi’s sons Mr. P.O David and Mr. Alex Kurakkaran is the Executive member of the Kurakaran Valiyaveettil Kudumba yogam, “Kudumba Deepam” publication and Kottarakara College Alumni Association.

Ammachi’s body placed at his house for the near and dear to pay their last respects on 22nd March,2012. Hundreds from all sections of the society paid their last respects. The last journey from home began by 11.30 am on 23rd March.. Special funeral prayers at her house were lead by church Vicar and other priests of the various churches. Among those who paid their last respects to Ammachi on Friday, 23rd, include Mr Kurakaran A.C Thomas, President Kudumba yogam, , Prof.John Kurakar,President, Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithi,, Mr. Varghese Kurakar, Mr. Bobby Kurakar, Mr. P.G Achen Kunju, Mr. T Abraham and other Kudumba yogam members, political leaders and social workers. The funeral was at Salem St. Geroge Orthodox Church, Ayppalloor on 23rd at 12.30 p.m. Rev. Fr. Y.S Geevarghese, Vicar of the church, Rev. Fr. Johnson and Rev. Fr. Geevarghese Kunju kunju lead the special funeral prayers. Kurakaran Kudumbayogam was arranged a condolence meeting at Karickom padinjare veedu. Mr A.C Thomas presided over the meeting. The Kudumbayogam president said Mr. Ammachi’s demise was great loss to the Kurakkaran family.
