KURAKARAN WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION OBSERVED WORLD WOMEN’S DAY

Each year around the world, International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. Thousands of events occur not just on this day but throughout March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Kottarakara based Kurakaran Women’s Association observed International Women’s day on 8^th March, 2013 with various programs. Women members from various units participated in the Women’s day Seminar. Mrs. Chinnamma John, President of the Kurakar Women’s Association presided. Prof. Molly Kurakar Inaugurated the Women’s day celebration. Mr. K.C Samuel, Former Manager of Federal Bank, Mr. George Achenkunju, Secretary of the Kurakar Valiyaveettil Kudumbayogam, Prof. John Kurakar, Chief Editor, Kudumba Deepam,  Manju George, Animon Thomas,  and Abraham Cherukara spoke on the occasion. Mrs. Chinnamma John  stressed the importance of the “ International Women’s Day in her presidential speech.The UN declares an International Women's Day theme and for 2013 it is “A promise is a promise: Time for action to end violence against women”. The meeting concluded at 5 pm with Prayer by Gracykutty John.

TRIBUTE PAID TO KOTTARA THENGUMVILA VEETTIL (LAL BHAVAN) P.C BABY

 Kottara Thengum vila veettil (Lal Bhavan) P.C Baby died on 5^th March, 2013. He was 65 age. He was the member of the executive committee of the Kottara   Alummoottil Kudumba yogam and an active member of the Kottara Marthoma church. He served 30 years as teacher and retired from service. He was buried at Kottara BethelMarthomaChurch on 7^th March, 2013 at 3 pm. He is survived by his wife Mary, Rtd Teacher and a son Baby Bin Lal and a daughter Baby Bin Shal.

Hundreds of people from the different walks of life paid them last respects.

P.C Baby’s Body placed at his house on 7^th March at 9 am for the near and dear to pay their last respects. There has been a steady flow of mourners. Leaders from all walks of life reached his house”Lal Bhavan” hundreds from all sections of society paid their last respects Among those who paid their last respects to  P.C Baby include  Advocate Ishapotti, MLA, Panchayat presidents, members School Teachers, Kottarakara Kurakar Family Members, Prof. John Kurakar, Varghese Kurakar, Bobby Kurakar, Thomas Kurakar, Sam Kurakar, George Mathew Kurakar, Prof. Molly Kurakar, Annamma Thomas, Suma Mathew, Sheela Kurakar, Lizzy Varghese,  Shoba Bobby, M.Mathew and Alummootil and  Kandamchallil family members.
