SRI KURAKARAN C.O MALAKHI

Karickom poonthottathil Sri Kurakaran C.O Malakhi died on 22nd August,2010. He was 83. He had age related ailments, but was active.Born as the elder son of Mr Koshy Oommen and Sosamma on 1927. He was the Former President of the Kurakaran Valiyaveettil Kudumbayogam, Kurakaran Women’s Association and Kurakaran Divya Bodana Unit. He was the founder president of the YMCA, Karickom Chapter. He was the famous business man especially tecxtile busines. He later started Thankom Supermarket and Anugrah Auditorium near his residence at karickom. He was also the Editorial member of the’Kudumbadeepam’- the official journey of the Kudumba yogam.

He is surviving his wife Thankamma Malakhi and three daughters Susan Koshy(USA), Jolly Thomas,Mini Jacob and a son Thomas P. Malakhi.

Under his leadeship Kurakaran Kudumbayogam embarked on a new journey of development. He encouraged the family members to began endowments and awards. Mr C.O Malakhi was honoured with Ponnada in2002 by Kudumbayogam. He has written a book Devotional songs”Mathura keerthangal” and several biblical articles.

Mr Malakhi’s body,placed at his house for the near and dear to pay their last respects on 26th August,2010 at 9 am.Hundreads from all sections of the society paid their last respects.The last journey from home began by 12 noon. Special funeral prayers at Shattai Church Hall, Karickom were lead by so many pasturs and church leaders.

Among those who paid their last respects to C.O Malakhi as Thursday include Mr Kurakaran A.C Thomas, President Kudumba yogam,Mrs Chinnamma John, President,Kurakaran women’s Association, Prof.John Kurakar,President, Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithi,and other political and social leaders.

Kurakaran Kudumbayogam was arranged a condolence meeting at Karickom padinjare veedu.Mr A.C Thomas presided over the meeting. The Kudumbayogam president said Mr C.O Malakhi’s demise was great loss to the family and our community.He had always been attentive to all issues affecting our locality.

Karickom Andoopoika padinjareveettil Mr. Kurakaran Kunjandi Mathew died on 14th August, 2010.He was 76 age. He had age related ailments, but was active. Born as the younger son of Mr. Kochitty Mathen and Mariamma on 1934. He was the executive committee member of the Kurakaran Valiyaveetil Kudumba yogam ,padinjareveedu branch. He was buried at St.Geroge Orthodox Church Ayppalloor on 16th Monday at 3p.m.He was unmarried
He was a graduate and a Pandit in Hindi Language & Literature. After his education he was started a business. He was also known as Modern Agriculturalist.
Mr. Kurakaran Kunjandi Mathew’s body placed at his house for the near and dear to pay last respects. Hundreds from all sections of the society paid this last respects. The last journey from home by 3 p.m. By 3.30 pm when body reached in the Ayppalloor church. The funeral prayers at church lead by H.G Dr Yuhanon Mar Thevothorose, Fist Bishop of Kottarakara-Punaloor Diosis,assited by several persists of the several orthodox,Marthoma and Catholic churches.
Several leaders who participated in the funeral service include Kurakaran A.C Thomas, President, Kurakaran Valiyaveettil Kudumba Yogam, Kurakaran Women’s Association President Mrs. Chinnamma John and leaders from various social and political organizations from the district.
Kurakar family was arranged a Condolence meeting at Kurakar Garden’s on Monday 16th Auguest,2010 at 6 pm. Prof.John Kurakar Presided over the meeting. Mr. P.G.Mathew Kurakar,Mr Sam Kurakar, Bobby Kurakar, Varghese Kurakar, Thomas Kurakar,Mrs Annamma Thomas, Prof.Molly Kurakar,Suma Mathew were spoke on the condolence meeting. Mr. P.G.Mathew Kurakar said Mr. Kunjandi Mathew’s demise was a great loss to the family

KURAKARAN WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION
GANDHI BHAVAN VISIT
Members of the Kurakaran Women’s Association visited Pathanapuram Ghandi Bhavan Charity Centre on 26th January, 2010, the Republic day. A team of 34 members started the journey from Kottarakara at 9.30 am and reached Ghandi Bhavan at 10.45 am. The members of the association interacted with the inmates and staff of the charity centre.
The members also actively participated in all religion cultural programmes at Ghandi Bhavan Hall. Sri Punaloor Somasakaran, Director of the Ghandi Bhavan welcomed the chief guests and Association members. Prof John Kurakar inaugurated the cultural meeting. Sri. K Prasad Achenkovil, Smt Chinnama John, President, Kurakaran Women’s Association, Prof Molly Kurakar were spoke on the occasion.

Pathanapuram Vattakottayil V.C Thomas ( Thampi Achayan ) died on 20th July, 2010. He was 83. He was the active member of the Marthoma Emanuel Church and a social worker.
He was buried at Pathanapuram Marthoma church on 21st July, 2010 at 3 p.m. He is survived by his wife Saramma and three daughters Kunjumol, Molly kutty and Mariyamma.
Hundreds of people from different walks of life paid them last respects. Representatives of the Kottarakara Kurakar family’s( Mr Varghese Kurakar, Prof .John Kurakar, Prof. Molly Kurakar, Bobby Kurakar, Shoba Bobby kurakar, Thomas Kurakar, P.M.G Kurakaran, Mr Thomas Mathew Padinjare veedu,Susamma Varghese, Brother in law Mr P.C Thomas (Kundara) and Dr T.C Mathew (enathu) were actively participated at the funeral function.

Kottarakara- Kizhakketheruve Kulanjiyil Velinthara veettil Kurakaran G. Mathai died on 20th July, 2010. He was 83. He was the active member of the Kurakaran Kudumbayogam.
He is survived by two sons Achenkunju and Sabu and a daughter Kunjukunjamma. He was buried at Kizhakketheruve Holy Trinity church.
Hundreds of people from different walks of life paid them last respects. The office bearers and the executive members of the Kudumba yogam actively participated in the funeral function.

KURAKARAN P.O THOMAS
Karickom puthen veettil Kurakaran P.O Thomas died on 19th July, 2010. He was 57 age. He was the former member of the executive committee of the Kurakaran Valiya veettil Kudumba yogam and an active member of the church. He served many years in Indian Air Force.
He was buried at Karickom Christos Marthoma Church on 19th July, 2010 at 3 p.m. He is survived by his wife Leelamma and two daughters Lincy and Cinly.
Hundreds of people from the different walks of life paid them last respects. Kurakaran Kudumba yogam meeting at Padinjareveedu at 3 pm on 18th July expressed their grief.
